FLIGHT TO THE FORD LOG | LAST HOMELY HOUSE LOG

Both Rivendell Logs are now up!

"Flight to the Ford" is an arrival log for Rivendell, to allow injured characters a chance to play with end-stage Morgul-wound drama. Players of inhuman characters can also play with having to talk their way in since the Elves will be mildly suspicious of any species they haven't yet encountered, medium suspicious of cursed weapon wielders, and very suspicious of any "dark" creatures in the squad. Players can also just play out reactions to arriving there, because Rivendell is genuinely beautiful place. The squad will be given food, water, medical treatment, and even cloaks upon arrival.

"Last Homely House" is a catchall log for their IC week in Rivendell.

A log for Council with the Elves will be posted in 1 OOC week.

Would Brugh swaps be somehow prevented by the presence of an elven ring?

No, Brugh swaps can still happen! Since there's no actual malice behind them, the various magical defenses of Rivendell won't prevent them.

That said, Brugh swaps that bring in a character with a cursed weapon, or a Necromancer, or a "cursed" creature (like Kevin the vampire) will at least arouse alarm. Elrond and the Elves will sense them blooping into Rivendell and they might have to talk things out.

For normal characters, the swaps won't raise any alarm.

Basically I was figuring Kevin's with the party when they first head in, does the blipping in and out matter as much if he's already a known quantity then?

Mostly I just want to be able to have both characters doodling around in Rivendell.

So uh, how are the elves going to react to the mildly too big to be a normal human guy who has a real distrust of Eldar from his own world?

I feel like this can be resolved with some talking I'm just super curious how best to resolve it in terms of interaction with NPCs etc.

Loken is generally willing to grudgingly accept magic/alien help if it is his only option to protect and help humans, so they can probably work that angle on him.

That or he can just flop over from the morgul blade exhausting him and wake up in the homely house which would also be hilarious. Which sounds better to you guys?

His size won't throw them much if only because the Elves themselves average 6 feet tall and the Dunedain like Aragorn are at least over 6'5" so he'll just seem a little bigger.

But as for the distrust, they can talk it out in the arrival thread if need be. You can hit the post here for that. They don't have a lot of time to talk due to his and other people's injuries but they'd be willing to try to at least get him to accept help and other members of the squad could chime in to try to talk him into it.

Or he can collapse and work it out later! It's up to you.

Trance being Trance and a very strange creature in many ways, would she just get the mild suspicion of the unknown from the elves or would she trigger anything more from them since her nature isn't evil but also isn't anything strictly natural?

It would most likely be curiosity more than anything. She is definitely different enough they'd wonder what she is but because she doesn't resemble anything evil or give off a vibe of dark magic, they'd be more curious than distrustful.
